I have built a client information storage database and, to make the issue very short, am trying to write a script that can merge two records that may have accidentally been created for the same client. I understand that the best way to do this is to export the record you want to merge, then import the data back into the file in a second temporary table and then compare each field and copy over the fields you want to merge into the duplicate record. This is working perfectly on my desktop, however when I try to execute the script on the iPad it is not seemingly able to import the records I exported. My export script uses a variable $$path as the file which looks like:
"file:" & Get ( TemporaryPath ) & "Merge.mer"
I then run the import script afterwards using the same variable, and although no errors are thrown (as in the file could not be found), no records are imported into the temporary table. I have tried with various file types (although I have been lead to believe that since I can't use .fmp files on an iPad, .mer would work just fine) and still no success. I am at a bit of a loss here since I am not getting any errors on either the export or the import, it simply isn't executing. I can relatively confidently confirm it is exporting properly, as I get the export dialogue and it executes when I run that script, but I am not even getting a dialogue for the import script, it skips it completely. Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I have the container field for the photos set up to store them externally. I am not happy with the file size of the photos being taken with the ipad mini, and with much Googling, I can't seem to find an answer to having my photos be taken with a smaller resolution and file size. Any suggestions?

FileMaker Go is running on the iPhone
iPhone receives call
User answers call
User switches to FileMaker Go
FileMaker Go matches caller ID to its own user table entry, displays associated info for that user
There have been a few posts on this subject before, but no responses (even negative ones!), so any help gratefully received. The igeeks

If it's good it beeps once and if discontinued it beeps 3 times. Please see the attached script. When I'm scanning with an ipad and the item is discontinued the screen flips over and then it continues on. On the iPhone when this happens the layout gets messed up and it appears to zoom. Can you please try to recreate and let me know your thoughts.

I have re-inserted them into the containers in the desktop db just in case and have been testing Go with a found set of 99 records, three of which are .mov 4.5 mb, m4a 23.6 mb and mp4 159.9 mb. I was told the only size limitation of the db is storage on the device and 22,000k in a scrolling text box. Kind of at a loss why they won't get on there. They play fine on the desktop. Any ideas appreciated.

Their workers could use the online database to enter data on the jobsite when the internet connection is good, but it turns out that the connection is too slow, not consistent, etc., so they will need to use the standalone database (downloaded to their iPads) to enter when the connection isn't good (inside malls, etc., where the work is being done).
The users are taking photos of the work done with the iPads and entering these into container fields in the database, so the resulting file is going to be too large to email through usual email servers. Multiple databases will be coming in from the various workers in this scenario.
I want to explore having the workers send from the iPad to Dropbox so that the main office can import the records into the online database. The solution to getting the data back to the office needs to be simple.
But I'm having a brain fart and can't figure out how to get a database from the iPad to Dropbox. Do I need to set up an email that is specific only to Dropbox so that it doesn't try to go from the iPad through any normal (limiting) email servers? In testing, that is what's happening since the email I used is one that goes through my website, and also is linked to Dropbox.
I have to confess that I'm a little flummoxed by Dropbox. So maybe there is something I just don;t "get". Any ideas?
Vicky
