I am designing from scratch an iPhone db that fits inside the paramaters of the iPhone without needing to zoom or scroll to see parts of the layout.
Now I need an opinion(s) regarding a menu that will fill more than one screen. I can either design it to be in several pages with buttons to move from page to page or as one long page and use the swipe action to move up and down.
Assuming the buttons are isolated in an area on the side freeing the rest of the screen for the swipe, will the form layout scroll up and down using the swipe action?
Oh, and the two menu bars I see, can they be made to disappear with hide status bar?
I have utilized a few layouts I've found on the internet to aid in my design work:

If this is in here then i'm sory but could not find it.
Could someone please give me an idiots guide to setting up Filemaker Go to access my Database from Filemaker Pro over the 3G network. The following is my set up.
- Using BT Home Hub 2 I think.
- iMac on home network running Filemaker Pro with database running. Filemaker Go on iPhone.
- From the File>Sharing>Filemaker Network menu I've enabled this and the selected the file and enabled All Users.
This allows me to fully interact with the database on Filemaker GO over wifi same network but when you look at the Host Address its iMac.local.
When I switch to 3G on iPhone it wont find the database.
I then configured a Host giving the address that I got from step 2 which was in the form ???>???>?>??;££.£££. ££.£; where the ?'s look like my home network address.
Any ideas?

Been playing about with my solution on the iPad and I've started to notice a bit of slow down. I only have about 8000 records active, the slow down takes place while selecting drop down value lists within a portal. It can take 5 or more seconds to respond some times giving a bad user experience.
Can any one advise of how to tackle this?

I tried to export my FM Pro Advanced file on an IPad via FM Go.
Apparently, I have a compatibility problem.
Explanation : My app is aimed to fill a form and generate models using form's fields. I have a checkbox which allows me to choose models I want to generate.
So, I fill the form. Check the models I want. Then I send by mail by pressing a button.
In FM Pro Advanced, the script works fine. If I check 2 models, the 2 models wiil be generate in a PDF file on my desktop.
But in FM Go, if I check 2 models : only the last checked is generated and the first is lost. So my PDF file contains only 1 model, instead of 2.
Here's my script (in french but terms should be similar) :

Some help ?
Thanks !

Forum post last edited February 9, 2012 by Jack RodgersTitle:iTouch vs iPhonePost:I am about to buy an iTouch for developing and testing Go applications. After 22 years with Filemaker and other dbs I have learned not to assume that what I think is the truth but to test and or ask.
So, here is the question (and I believe the answer is yes): does the iTouch act just like the iPhone (disregarding the wireless broadband G3/G4 goodies)? In otherwords, will my fm/db run/crash the same on both?
I realize of course there will be potential issues with G3/4 that I will not be aware of using the iTouch.
Thanks

I need a printer that is not wifi so I can leave an invoice with the customer. They have been using thermal printers for years. Yet the all powerful and great Ipad and FM go, seems to be missing the boat if they want to be used as mobile devices. Put then again maybe there is, and I'm just not looking in the right places.
Can Some one steer me in the right direction?
Thank You much.
