Forum post
Hello,
I think I've got a bug here. I looked thru the bug reports and couldn't find it, so here it is.
Enter a text field. Double tap to select a word then drag one of the "pins" to expand the text selection. If your finger moves outside of the text area and then tap another finger on another part of the layout (while still swiping the first finger), you get a crash. This only seems to happen when I am dragging to the left and tap on right.
It can take a number of attempts to get the swipe and tap right. Let us know if anybody else can get these crashes... if not, I'll post a movie or something.
It happens in the Sample Inventory and in the Bug reports database.

Thank you for your post.
I am unable to replicate the problem. This is what I have done using the Sample Inventory file.
I selected the record "Plasma HDTV". I enter the field Product Name and double-tap the word HDTV. I grab the upper "pin" and drag to the left so that Plasma is also included, and I continue expanding to the left outside the border of the field. I tap on the layout to the right of the field. I am unable to make this crash.
I tried this several times (and with other records) on both an iPad and iPod touch.
Let me know what I am doing differently than you. Also, if you could give me the exact steps you take on a particular record/field, I will try it here.

That's a good description of what I'm doing, so I've posted a video. It may only happen in portrait mode—I can't seem to repeat it in landscape mode.

I've tried unsuccessfully to access the movie. If you have any other means to get me the movie, send me a private message.

What error did you receive?
I've tested the link, using Snow Leopard, XP, and on someone else's computer, so the link should have worked. I will assume that your quicktime is out-of-date, and the simplest solution is to post a youtube video. I will send you the link via PM.

It's not that I can't play the movie, it's way before that. I can't access the site. Just tried again at 8:00 AM Pacific Time. I get the message:
Safari can’t open the page “http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10310316/FMGcrash.mov” because the server where this page is located isn’t responding.
I did get your private message with the YouTube link. Still, I am unable to replicate the problem following your exact steps, and I tried between 10 and 20 times. I would suggest removing FileMaker Go from your iPad, connect to iTunes and move over a fresh copy. Then, try to duplicate the problem again.

I deleted the app from my iPad and reinstalled it. Same behavior.

I was finally able to reproduce the problem, once. Multiple attempts have been unsuccessful. I will continue to try and replicate this to find out the exact sequence. I have used the exact same record and word selections in your video without success. I will continue to keep you posted.
