    Title:
"field may not be empty" + "unique"
    Post:

I can't find any references anywhere - Bento Help file, here, Google - to two functions that seem very basic,
    a) to specify that a field may not be empty, so that the app reminds you of anything you've forgotten to fill in when you leave a record; and

    b) unique value in a field, so you don't have to entries for the same person or thing

     - even Claris/appleWorks has them ... are they there and I'm missing them?

    Grateful for any thoughts

      (a) and (b) are not supported in Bento.

      David the Harper:

      Thank you for your posts.

The answers provided by "pvonk" are correct.  However, there is an option for a unique value in a field.  An Automatic Counter field type will display a unique number.  Then again, reading your post "... don't have two entries for the same person or thing" alludes to a Text field.

I have forwarded both suggestions to our Development and Product Management departments so they can consider these options in a future release.
